Meet The Staff
Dr. David Ware, MD
Missouri & Kansas Licensed
Dr. Ware graduated from the University of South Florida, cum laude, with an Interdisciplinary Honor's Distinction and a B.A. in Philosophy & B.S. in Clinical Chemistry. He then obtained a Medical Degree from the prestigious
University of Miami. He served as Medical Director of an Emergency Department in Indiana before going to New York City to complete an
Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency; he also received gynecological oncology training at the world-renowned Sloan Memorial Hospital in Manhattan. A
native Midwesterner, he and his wife, Melanie, moved to Kansas City specifically to realize their joint career interest in Women's Health rooted
in ancient and trans-cultural philosophies.
Sheila R. Roth, CNM
Missouri & Kansas Licensed
Sheila Roth, CNM has actively practiced in the OB/GYN field of Nursing since 1973, obtaining her RN from St. Luke's School of Nursing and completing her
Certification in Nurse Midwifery in 1994 through San Jose University in California. Sheila has worked with over 500 homebirth families. Many of those families
have chosen and enjoyed the added choice of waterbirth.
Melanie J. Ware - RN, IBCLC, CLNC
Student Nurse Midwife, Certified Doula (DONA)
Since 1991, Melanie has been working with mothers and babies in various settings, including a large New York City medical center, rural amish community
in Indiana and a home-birth based midwifery practice in Missouri. Melanie became an RN in 1993 and has worked in both inpatient and outpatient women's health
care since that time. In 2000 Melanie completed her BSN, cum laude, from the state university of New York at Stony Brook, where she will also graduate from in
April as a certified nurse midwife. Over the last couple of years Melanie has also completed several certifications as an internationally board certified lactation
consultant, surgical technology, certified doula and her most recent achievement, certified legal nurse consultant. Melanie is the mother of three boys, ages 11,
7 and 2.
Kesh Hecker
RMA, Office Manager
Kesh Hecker has been a registered medical assistant since 1996, initially working in a busy family practice setting. She began working for The Woman's Hour
when it first opened in 1998 and works both front and back office settings. She has birthed her babies both at home and in the hospital.
Danica Yaley
Front Office, Receptionist
Danica Yaley works in the front office and is a receptionist. She goes to school part-time and is working on her Dance Masters Certification. She also
teaches a variety of dance classes at an academy in Grandview. She is an advocate for informed decision making in health care.
